UnFuckGoogle

UnFuckGoogle is a tiny and simple extension for Safari and Chrome that fixes the following Google annoyances:

Search results:

  • remove +1 buttons
  • disable page previews
  • remove the prompts to add your Twitter account to your Google profile
  • remove history-breaking onmousedown handlers from result links that transform the original link into a google.com redirect
  • restore Cached and Similar links to their original position

Global:

  • restore the top navigation bar to its original white background

There are no library dependencies (e.g. jQuery), so it’s very lightweight.

For now, there are no configurable bits. Some settings for toggling individual features may be introduced in the future.

I’ve got the necessary version update plumbing in place, so you should be able to get automatic updates for the extension if/when I release new versions.

UnFuckGoogle should work on all of Google’s localized TLDs. You may report bugs or shortcomings to me via e-mail, but I make no promises about actually fixing any of them. (It helps if I’m annoyed by them, too.)

Current version is 1.2.2.
